ISSUE V

“In Plain Sight”

SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN!

Deadline: February 14th, 2026

From the food we eat to the streets we walk on, many services are so embedded in our daily lives that we rarely stop to notice the people behind them. With our fifth issue, Utopix aims to put faces to the services we rely on, spotlighting undervalued workers whose labor keeps our world running yet is often overlooked.

Who or what do you appreciate, and who do you think deserves more recognition? What does it truly mean to be seen and valued?

The works you submit do not need to directly link to the topic of undervalued workers, but should explore the idea of “being seen”—what it means to feel recognized, valued, and respected.

We are open to publishing poems, essays, short stories, illustrations, cartoons, photographs, or any other literary and artistic works related to the topic of the month.

All submissions should be sent to utopixmagazine@gmail.com.

We ask that you please follow the instructions below:

Cover Letter: We require a brief cover letter detailing your name, age, and general location. Please also include a short third-person biography to be used if we publish your work.

Art Submissions

  • Please include a short 100-250 word brief of your art piece, explaining its correlation to the theme.

  • Submit as PNG, PDF, or JPG.

  • Please include the name of each art piece in the email.

Written Submissions

  • Utopix prefers works that are under 1500 words. However, we are willing to consider writing of all lengths.

  • Please email your written work(s) in the form of a PDF, Word document, or Google Docs file.
