From the food we eat to the streets we walk on, many services are so embedded in our daily lives that we rarely stop to notice the people behind them. With our fifth issue, Utopix aims to put faces to the services we rely on, spotlighting undervalued workers whose labor keeps our world running yet is often overlooked.
But to do so, we need YOUR help!
Who or what do you appreciate, and who do you think deserves more recognition? What does it truly mean to be seen and valued?
The works you submit do not need to directly link to the topic of undervalued workers, but should explore the idea of “being seen”—what it means to feel recognized, valued, and respected. To be seen is to be valued, and everyone deserves that recognition. With your voice, we can ensure that the human stories behind every uniform and job title are no longer ignored, but seen clearly, in plain sight.

From the Team
In response to the recent wildfires devastating Los Angeles, Utopix has made a direct impact by donating to Pasadena Humane, an NGO dedicated to supporting animals affected by disasters. With so many pets displaced, injured, or lost during the fires, we wanted to ensure they receive the care they deserve. We encourage our community to consider supporting local organizations like Pasadena Humane, as their work continues to be crucial in the aftermath of the disaster. Together, we can help heal the scars left by these fires, one small act at a time. Read our special issue, “Rising From the Ashes”.
Who are We?
Utopix is a youth-led digital magazine dedicated to shedding light on diverse social issues through the lens of literature and the arts. We provide a dynamic platform for young voices to be heard, showcasing impactful content ranging from articles and essays to illustrations and photographs. With a unique focus on spotlighting local organizations actively addressing each issue, Utopix strives to inspire and connect communities, fostering a collective commitment to creating a more informed and compassionate world.
